Each week, Huddersfield Volleyball Club hosts two different types of sessions, giving players the chance to choose the environment that best suits their experience and what they want to get out of the game. Whether you are completely new to volleyball, returning after some time away, or looking for a more structured and competitive standard of play, there is a session for you.
Our Social Sessions are open to anyone and everyone. Players are placed into teams and rotate throughout the session, giving everyone the opportunity to play both with and against a wide range of people. Games are played continuously to 18 points in a relaxed, friendly and fun environment, with plenty of court time and a strong focus on enjoying the game and meeting new people. Players can also vibe along to the club’s shared playlist while they play, helping create the welcoming atmosphere our social sessions are known for.
Our Intermediate+ Sessions are designed for more experienced players who are comfortable playing within a structured team system. These sessions use recognised positions and a 5–1 rotation, with game-based matches played to 25 points. The pace is quicker, the standard is higher and the focus is on more competitive volleyball, giving players the opportunity to develop their game, improve their decision-making and play in an environment that more closely reflects competitive match play.

Our HEYVA and Yorkshire League teams provide opportunities for players to compete, develop, and represent the club in a supportive environment.

At Huddersfield Volleyball Club, we currently have two competitive teams designed for different levels of experience and confidence.
Our HEYVA team is designed for players who want to experience competitive volleyball in a friendly and supportive environment. It is ideal for beginners, developing players, and returning players who want regular match experience while continuing to improve their confidence, skills, and understanding of the game.
Our Yorkshire League team is aimed at players who are ready for a faster and more competitive level of volleyball. It is best suited to experienced players who are confident with core skills, positioning, teamwork, and match situations, while looking to compete and develop at a higher regional level.
